DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, we are delighted to invite you to the 38th Fetus as a Patient Congress\, which will take place in Ljubljana from May 14 to 16\, 2025. Perinatal\, fetal\, and neonatal medicine is quickly evolving\, and research continues to provide us with new insights and information that are only sometimes easy to translate into clinical practice. \nWe are increasingly encountering rare cases of diseases and their treatment options that require greater knowledge and experience. Along with fetal medicine\, both screening and diagnostic genetic tests are developing rapidly\, leaving us in a position where\, on the one hand\, we are unable to clearly explain the findings. On the other hand\, they provide us with explanations to previously inexplicable conditions. At the same time\, artificial intelligence is swiftly and uncontrollably entering our professional work and relationships with future or new parents. We will shed light on the knowledge and dilemmas we all encounter on a daily basis through lectures\, your invaluable contributions\, and open discussion. The workshops will help enhance the knowledge necessary for our daily work. \nRecognizing the challenges of balancing professional responsibilities\, personal life\, and global situations\, we planned the 38th Fetus as a Patient Congress to be as accessible as possible. We will hold the congress in a hybrid format\, allowing for both in-person and online participation. \nNonetheless\, we must not underestimate the value of personal interaction\, the potential for establishing new connections that will enhance our clinical and research work\, and the simple joy of socializing. DESCRIPTION:Spoštovani\, \nobveščamo Vas\, da v četrtek\, 24. aprila 2025\, organiziramo brezplačno spletno srečanje na temo “Imunomodulatorna zdravila v perinatologiji”. \nUporaba imunomodulatornih zdravil je v zadnjem času v porastu\, z njimi se zdravijo tudi naše nosečnice. Za vse nas je pomembno\, da poznamo možnosti zdravljenja ter učinke teh zdravil tako v nosečnosti kot v času dojenja\, zato vas vljudno vabimo na krajše strokovno srečanje. \nSrečanje bo sestavljeno iz kratkih predstavitev različnih specialističnih področij\, ki se ukvarjajo z imunomodulatornim zdravljenjem\, nato bo sledila okrogla miza\, kjer bodo predstavljene usmeritve za delo z nosečnicami z imunomodulatornim zdravljenjem in njihovih novorojenčkov. \nDogodek se preko aplikacije Webex začne ob 15. uri z redno letno skupščino Združenja za perinatalno medicino Slovenije\, na katero ste vsi vljudno vabljeni. SUMMARY:ESGO Prevention webinar: Anal intraepithelial neoplasia
DESCRIPTION:Human papillomavirus (HPV) has been described as the main etiological factor for the development of premalignant and malignant lesions of the anogenital system. The focus of HPV prevention strategies has classically been on the uterine cervix. In contrast\, HPV infections involving the anal canal have been neglected for decades. Anal cancer is preventable disease due to existence of its precursor lesion Anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN). Anal high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (anal HSIL) can progress to anal squamous cell cancer (ASCC). AIN is a rare disease\, but as some patients are at increased risk\, knowledge of the epidemiology\, natural history\, diagnosis and treatment of AIN\, is highly important for prevention of invasive anal squamocellular cancer (anal SCC). Numerous articles and a number of guidelines have been published referring mostly to population of HIV positive\, immunosuppressed and organ transplanted persons. Recently\, it was shown that the risk of AIN and anal SCC is significantly higher among women with previously diagnosed HPV related disease\, compared to the general population. This group of patients requires targeted screening and treatment for AIN. Gynecologists have a crucial role in raising awareness and educating high risk women about the risk of anal cancer.  They should be familiar with screening  principles\, available screening methods\, and  the identification of patients at high risk for anal SCC.

SUMMARY:Izbrane teme iz ginekološke onkologije
DESCRIPTION:Spoštovani\, \nz velikim veseljem vas vabimo  na Ginekološko onkološki simpozij 2025. Lansko leto smo simpozij organizirali na temo novosti pri raku endometrija. Letos smo se odločili za\, na prvi pogled\, ožjo in redkejšo temo in sicer “Dileme pri zdravljenju raka materničnega vratu”. Vseeno pa se s to tematiko srečujemo na vseh nivojih zdravstvenega varstva in pomembno je\, da poznamo možnosti in novosti\, tudi\, če v nismo aktivno vpleteni v specifično onkološko zdravljenje. Nemalokrat bolnice bolj zaupajo svojim izbranim ginekologom\, ki jih poznajo že več let\, in se o zdravljenju želijo pogovarjati tudi v ambulantah na primarnem nivoju ali z ginekologi\, ki so bolezen diagnosticirali v regionalni bolnišnici. Zato se nam zdi pomembno\, da dileme pri zdravljenju raka materničnega vratu predstavimo širši strokovni javnosti. \nDogodek bo potekal v dveh delih. 3.4.2025 organiziramo dogodek posvečen izbranim splošnim temam v ginekološki onkologiji in je namenjen predvsem specializantom in mlajšim (po starosti in po srcu) specialistom. 4.4.2025 bo potekal osrednji simpozij z naslovom “Dileme pri zdravljenju raka materničnega vratu”. \nPod okriljem Združenja ginekologov in porodničarjev Slovenije smo s sodelovanjem kolegov iz Ginekološke klinike Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Ljubljana\, Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Maribor in Onkološkega inštituta pripravili zanimiv program. Zelo smo ponosni\, da bo letošnji simpozij nadgrajen na mednarodno raven. \nNašemu vabilu se je odzval tudi mednarno uveljavljen ginekološki onkolog profesor Denis Querleu\, ki velja za začetnika minimalno invazivne kirurgije v ginekološki onkologiji\, velik del strokovnega delovanja pa je posvetil tudi radikalni kirurgiji raka materničnega vratu. \nV Sloveniji je prevalence raka materničnega vratu nizka zahvaljujoč dobremu presejalnemu programu ZORA. Kljub temu pa zdravljenje raka materničnega vratu ostaja izziv\, zato je naš cilj spodbujati odprto razpravo\, izmenjavo znanja in sodelovanje med različnimi medicinskimi disciplinami. Pri svojem delu ugotavljamo\, da številna vprašanja ostajajo odprta kljub priporočilom in literaturi. Razvijajo se novi pristopi in načini zdravljenja\, predvsem na področju sistemske terapije. Glede nekaterih tem imamo različne poglede in prav je\, da se o tem pogovarjamo. \nSimpozij je namenjen specializantom in specialistom ginekologije in porodništva\, internistom onkologom\, radioterapevtom\, družinskim zdravnikom ter patologom\, ki se ukvarjajo z ginekološko patologijo. \nUpamo\, da bo simpozij ne bo le priložnost za strokovni napredek\, temveč tudi priložnost za druženje in krepitev medsebojnega sodelovanja. \nLep pozdrav in se vidimo v aprilu!

SUMMARY:Promoting healthy ageing - Best practices in menopausal care
DESCRIPTION:Menopause is a critical transitional phase for women. The bodily changes and symptoms one experiences during menopause occur on life’s continuum\, influenced by past health and reproductive histories\, lifestyle and environmental factors. Often disruptive to personal and professional lives\, these changes also affect one’s long-term health. \nAccording to the World Health Organization\, the world’s population of menopausal and post-menopausal women is growing and estimated to reach over 1.2 billion by 2030. Menopause is a crucial time for health professionals to engage in patient-centred care to mitigate symptoms\, promote healthy ageing and contribute to positive long-term health outcomes. \nThis webinar will provide evidence-based guidance on key aspects of menopausal care\, beginning with an overview of the “health span” concept. The vital role of micronutrients and lifestyle management during menopause will then be highlighted. This will be followed by a discussion on the benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for alleviating menopausal symptoms and maintaining wellbeing. Next\, solutions to sexual health challenges for women experiencing menopause will be explored. Tailored menopausal care for women with histories of cancer will also be covered.
